Newborn Celebration!! Bouncy Bums Review

I LOVE BOUNCY BUMS.
Yup.
Love them.

What are Bouncy Bums you ask? Incredibly wonderful cloth diapers made by a super sweet mama. After I had my little girl I wanted awesome girly fluff to put her in. Bouncy Bums responded to my ISO on the Babycenter WAHM Wares board (highly recommend checking out that board by the way, but only if you are ready to shop!) and upon checking out her store I could not pick just 1 diaper- the prints we're too cute! I needed at least 2, or well..3 ;)

My ISO was kind of specific. I knew what I was looking for in a diaper. I wanted a one size girly ai2 or pocket with crossover wing snaps and an insert. I also really wanted a ruffle butt. Bouncy Bums delivered!
Bouncy Bums AI2s are made with a cute outer print, hidden PUL, and an insert made of 3 layers of organic bamboo fleece topped with cotton velour. Obviously, I love the print choices for the outers. The inserts are quite thin, but they do their job well while keeping it trim! My little one is a very heavy wetter and besides a little bit of moisture around the legs if I didn't change in a timely matter (which can happen with ANY diaper with a cotton outer) we had no leaks- including no poopy leaks! The inserts are also SO SO SO soft. I can find them through my pile of inserts on laundry day just by touch. The diaper fits my baby girl well already, with plenty of room to grow (thanks to the snap down rise and crossover snaps!) The diaper seems constructed very well too. It is neatly put together and sewn beautifully. Another thing I know a lot of people like in a diaper is when snaps don't touch babies skin, and they don't with Bouncy Bums!
I enjoyed working with Stevie, even through Internet messages she seems to have a wonderful personality! I would DEFINITELY recommend Bouncy Bums to any cloth diapering mama and will probably add a few more to my stash as well.
Now, if you need more of a reason to be intrigued by Bouncy Bums- check out this REMOVABLE RUFFLE BUTT!!

Believe it or not, I wanted more pictures- but my camera died and Sophie got fussy!

Newborn Celebration!! Bamboobies Review&Giveaway

With my oldest I had never heard of reusable breast pads. I got whatever was on sale at the store. I HATED THEM. They we're annoying, didn't fit well, made me feel itchy, and we're just not comfortable. Plus, I always felt like they made my breasts look weird. This time around someone recommended reusable nursing pads to me, specifically eco friendly Bamboobies. I am very glad they did!
Bamboobies we're invented by a Mommy of three. After breastfeeding for a few months, she was still leaking. She disliked disposable nursing pads (they we're expensive, showed wrinkles, and created a lot of trash) and leaked through cotton pads. Out of desperation one day she shoved a reusable diaper wipe made of organic bamboo velour into her bra and fell in love. It was soft and incredibly absorbent. That is when the idea of Bamboobies nursing pads was born, and product development began!
Now Bamboobies are made of a layer of organic bamboo and cotton velour, a center made of super absorbent hemp, and a milk proof outer layer to prevent leaks. They are made in the shape of precious little hearts, super cute and made to form nicely to the breast.

Bamboobies makes a few other products as well. Bamboobies overnight nursing pads are one of them. Overnights are larger than the regulars. They are made with bamboo fleece which helps soothe nipples, a super absorbent center (organic cotton/hemp), and another fleece layer. Bamboobies also makes Bamboob-EASE nursing pillows and nursing covers.  On their site you can also buy nipple cream, More Milk Plus, Moby carriers, nail polish, hands free nursing bras, wooding teething toys, swaddle blankets, sleep bras, and more!

I agree with every reason I posted to use Bamboobies. So soft, absorbent, comfortable, invisible, and they save me money. Wondering what to do with Bamboobies nursing pads when you are no longer breastfeeding or leaking? Well, my toddler thinks they make great tissues! Seriously. He hates tissues/toilet paper and we we're out of Boogie Wipes.. so I used their soft comfiness to wipe my toddler's nose. He had no complaints and was so amused they we're in the shape of hearts!

Newborn Celebration!! Hip Bottoms Review and Giveaway

We're going to kick off the Newborn Celebration with a review and giveaway sponsored by Hip Bottoms. Woohoo!

Hip Bottoms is an online cloth diapering store owned by a mama named Christina. She started cloth diapering her little one, Cooper, because of how affordable and stylish cloth is (I agree completely!). Fuzzibunz, Kawaii, Grovia, and GoGreen are some of the well known brands of cloth diapers carried by Hip Bottoms. There are also custom made diapers as well as one of a kind AIOs from Bug On A Rug. You can get most of your accessories at Hip Bottoms as well. They have wetbags, pail liners, CJ's, extra inserts, doublers, and snappis. You can also get a free Snappi or a sample of CJ's Butter if you place an order over $50. Not sure about cloth, but interested in trying it out? Contact Christina to talk about a cloth diaper trial!
If you are local to Hip Bottoms (Winston-Salem, NC) you should probably throw a cloth diaper party. How awesome does that sound? The hostess can earn free products and discounts, plus there will be games with PRIZES!! (I wish I was in NC)
Christiana sent me a Kawaii Pure&Natural diaper to review. I was so excited to finally try Kawaii. I've been hearing great things about them for a long time! Kawaii diapers are made with a waterproof outer (from the Kawaii website: "Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is a composition specifically adapted to produce non-porous membranes exhibiting waterproof and water vapor transmissible. High performance, durable, excellent water-resistant, cut and tear resistance and soft") and an incredibly soft suede cloth inner (to wick moisture away from baby so they feel dry). It comes with two 100% unbleached microfiber inserts. Kawaii P&Ns are only $7.25. YES, $7.25 FOR AN AWESOME DIAPER. You can build a whole diaper stash of Kawaii's for less than $200. That is AMAZING.

My first thought upon opening the package was "HOW CUTE!!" Kawaii's are one of the most affordable diapers on the market so I wasn't expecting to be wowed in the looks department, but I was wrong. The diaper had an adorable gender neutral print perfect for a new baby. Upon using the diaper I was very pleased. I have had zero leaks and it has even held in messy breastfed poosplosions. There is a gusset on the back to help hold in poop, plus it gives it some stretch for larger babies. I started using the diaper after my little one's cord fell off, but it would have fit beforehand too. I will show pictures later to show how small it can get! I would highly recommend the P&N diaper to anyone, even an expecting mama cloth diapering a newborn!
