This is harder than I thought it would be.

I didn't think it was going to be easy getting into the world of doing reviews and giveaways, but I didn't think it was going to be this hard either! I figured you make a blog, set up a facebook, do some giveaways to get fans, then start asking companies to do reviews of their products. Not too hard, right? WRONG. I have had some very nice people generous enough to offer me their advice and resources, which has been very helpful, but it made me realize how much harder this was than I thought. I have been looking through offers to apply for all morning, but everyone requires you to have a twitter (which I do, but I hate it and don't use it) or a Google Page Rank of 1 or more (I have no idea what this even means!) or 1000 facebook fans (and I was really excited to be past 250..ha!). I have sent e-mails and gotten no reply. I have looked into blog hops but I still don't understand how they work. How am I ever going to get started if no one will give me a chance?! I worked really hard to get my blog set up and looking nice, without having money to spend on a blog designer. It took me days, maybe even weeks, to get it figured out. I spend 5-7 hours a day on the computer working on my blog and facebook page. My house is suffering (which we will talk about in another post!) and I haven't been spending as much time with my son as I would like. We haven't played any games or just sat on the floor and played with toys in what feels like eternity. I am not going to give up, this is what I want to do, but I am feeling really discouraged today. :( </end whiny post>

Aw, hang in there, mama! If you're passionate about it, and keep following up with people, it will work out! **hugs**

I understand your frustration, because I encountered all of the same issues you have. One thing you can try, look through your stash and find a diaper that you have that you feel you would do a good job reviewing, then contact the company and say that you are looking for a diaper to giveaway, but you already have a diaper to review. More likely than not, they will say yes. I did this with Bummis Fleece Liners on my blog, and it was wonderful, because it gained a lot of followers to my page. That will allow you to establish yourself a little bit more, and once you have done a giveaway or two from a CD business, it is much easier to get more. Also, look around at all of the other blog giveaways, see what companies are most likely to do giveaways. For Example, GoGreen Pocket Diapers does a lot of online giveaways, so they might be a good company to approach because they are more likely to do a giveaway than a company that rarely or never does them. It can take some creative asking, but I am fully confident that if you really want to be a cloth diaper blogger, you will be able to do it! :)

I think you are doing an amazing job. Being a mommy is tough and being home with your child and trying to work is just plain tough! Believe me, I understand. Starting up is a lot of hard work and blogging is a never ending task. BUT you are doing it for the long term gain, sometimes it gets frustrating in the beginning. I started my business less than 2 months ago, it's crazy. I expected for things to take off in 6 months to a year. Looking like it might be a little sooner! I love working with you and just let me know if there is anything you need. :)
