ENDED:Diaper Safari: Best Bottom Diaper System Review and Giveaway

ENDED:The Best Bottom Diaper System ROCKS! Seriously, it is awesome and I would recommend it to any cloth diapering mom (even a newbie!).

Nicki the owner of Nicki's Diapers created the Best Bottom Diaper attempting to take all of the pros from the other systems, while eliminating the cons. She wanted to make a simple diapering system, so when parents are looking into cloth they aren't turned off by confusion and that overwhelming feeling (which most of us have felt). I would say she succeeded. They are also a privately owned family corporation, and Best Bottoms are made in the USA at local factories!

The Best Bottom Diaper System starts with a one size shell. It is made from USA-made materials, and has 2 layers of waterproof PUL. It is wipeable, so in between changes you just wipe it out if necessary. It has a snap down rise, making it fit from birth to 35+ pounds. One of my favorite things about the Best Bottom shell is the leg gussets! They keep messes in the diaper. Also, you can get the Best Bottom shell in hook&loop or snaps. Next, you have the insert. There are a couple different options for the inserts: stay dry microfiber or hemp/organic cotton. The stay dry inserts are 4 layers of microfiber topped with a soft no-pill fleece. The hemp/organic cotton inserts are 5 layers of hemp/organic cotton topped with a layer of hemp/organic cotton fleece. The inserts are sized, Small: birth-14lbs, Medium: 11-22lbs, Large: 16-35lbs. There is also an overnight insert available. It is made of 6 layers of microfiber. To add the overnight insert you just snap it in the shell first, then snap your regular insert on top of it.

Using the Best Bottom Diaper System is easy peasy. First, adjust the shell to fit your baby (do this with the snap down rise). Second, snap the insert into the shell. Then, put the diaper on the baby. Done! When you need to do a diaper change just snap out the insert and snap in a new one. You can use the same shell all day long as long as no poop gets on it. That is it! So simple, right?

It is recommended to have enough shells for as many times as your little one poops within 2-3 days (or however long you go between washing). Generally the poop does not get on the shell, but with some messy diapers it does. Honestly, we usually use the same shell all day and just swap on the inserts. They also recommend 18-24 inserts per size.

I received a Very Cherry shell (hook&loop) and 3 stay dry inserts (size large) from Diaper Safari to review. My opinion of the Best Bottom System is obviously that I love it. It is so easy to use. I get a good trim fit on my son. I have never had a leak with the Best Bottoms! He has worn the diaper for about 3 hours with no problem, and even worn it during nap time. We've never had any messes leak out either! Because of the way the system is set up, it dries really fast. Another thing I love about Best Bottoms is how easy they are to store in a diaper bag. They don't take up much room at all! When we are using it we just pack some extra inserts and 1 extra cover to be safe. It is so much easier than packing fitteds or pockets. I think they are great for on the go trips and running errands. Best Bottom Diapers are also Daddy approved. My fiancee was really excited when he saw them and has no problem at all using them for diaper changes. Oooh! One thing I didn't mention is the cuteness (how could I forget?!). They are available in some cute prints, but I really love the solid colors/color combos. The only con I have experienced is the occasional red mark on my son- but this is probably operator error! I tend to put diapers on a bit too tight sometimes.

Leg gussets!

Look how trim it is!

Diaper Safari, the company that sent me this wonderful diaper to review, has been in business for over 10 years. They want to share their knowledge of cloth diapering and help parents choose a system that works best for them. They offer all kinds of diapers- from prefolds to ai2s to swim diapers and even potty training items. They also sell diapering accessories (wetbags, pail liners, wipes, and creams for example), baby carriers, diaper bags, and items for moms. They have ALWAYS free shipping (with rates directly from the UPS for Alaska, Hawaii, and International), which is something I look for when choosing where to buy from. Also, they have a reward program that you can redeem for store gift certificates. There is opportunity to become an affiliate and earn comission on purchases you refer, too.

Where I have been

After the little break I took from "working", I was starting to get back into the swing of things. That was... until my computer broke. I am not sure what happened. I turned it on one morning and it was going so slow I couldn't even open up a webpage. I turned it off and restarted it, and when it turned back on it was back to factory settings (but still going slow). I freaked out! I thought all of my pictures and documents we're gone. I called Dell, and they got all of my stuff back in a matter of minutes (so I hurried up and saved my pictures to my external hard drive.. I really hope they saved correctly). We tried a couple things to fix it but nothing worked. The gentleman I was talking to said we needed to get the CDs that came with the computer and reformat it. I thought I found the CDs, but when I went to call Dell I realized they we're for my old computer- not the broken one. So I called and left a message that I needed to re-order the necessary CDs. I have not received a call back yet. On Monday, after a doctors appointment and some fun at the pool, I am going to call Dell back and talk to someone else- and get the disk ordered. Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon. I HATE not being on the computer. I feel like I am letting my page down. I am in the middle of organizing a fan celebration, have 2 giveaways/reviews to post, and have winners of other giveaways to get straight. It makes me so anxious not being able to take care of everything in a timely manner!

Right now, I am on my old computer. It is really slow, missing a bunch of keyboard keys, and doesn't really do much. I at least wanted to get online and check up on my e-mails and facebook messages though- and to update all of you wonderful people.

As soon as my good computer is back up: I am going to: get the reviews posted, get the fan celebration opened, and get in touch with my previous winners (who are waiting on business shoutouts and for their buttons on my blog).

Can't wait to be back!!

Jillian Michaels UPDATE

So, I obviously haven't updated about Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred lately. I hurt my knee :( It is finally feeling back to normal again- so my updates will resume soon! I just have to figure out how to fit working out in my new babysitting schedule.

I apologize

I apologize for not being around much lately. To be honest, I've just been feeling really overwhelmed and depressed- and haven't been able to shake it. I am trying to get back into the swing of things though! I have also started babysitting my neighbors 4 year old, and adjusting has been rough. The hours are kind of crazy- some days I get him at 9am and he doesn't leave until 8pm. It makes it really hard to get ANYTHING done!

To make it up to you.. I should have a Best Bottoms diaper giveaway up within the next few days! Plus, I am working on a fan celebration on my facebook page.

Thanks! Much love to you all!
