We're going to kick off the Newborn Celebration with a review and giveaway sponsored by Hip Bottoms. Woohoo!
Hip Bottoms is an online cloth diapering store owned by a mama named Christina. She started cloth diapering her little one, Cooper, because of how affordable and stylish cloth is (I agree completely!). Fuzzibunz, Kawaii, Grovia, and GoGreen are some of the well known brands of cloth diapers carried by Hip Bottoms. There are also custom made diapers as well as one of a kind AIOs from Bug On A Rug. You can get most of your accessories at Hip Bottoms as well. They have wetbags, pail liners, CJ's, extra inserts, doublers, and snappis. You can also get a free Snappi or a sample of CJ's Butter if you place an order over $50. Not sure about cloth, but interested in trying it out? Contact Christina to talk about a cloth diaper trial!
If you are local to Hip Bottoms (Winston-Salem, NC) you should probably throw a cloth diaper party. How awesome does that sound? The hostess can earn free products and discounts, plus there will be games with PRIZES!! (I wish I was in NC)
Christiana sent me a Kawaii Pure&Natural diaper to review. I was so excited to finally try Kawaii. I've been hearing great things about them for a long time! Kawaii diapers are made with a waterproof outer (from the Kawaii website: "Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is a composition specifically adapted to produce non-porous membranes exhibiting waterproof and water vapor transmissible. High performance, durable, excellent water-resistant, cut and tear resistance and soft") and an incredibly soft suede cloth inner (to wick moisture away from baby so they feel dry). It comes with two 100% unbleached microfiber inserts. Kawaii P&Ns are only $7.25. YES, $7.25 FOR AN AWESOME DIAPER. You can build a whole diaper stash of Kawaii's for less than $200. That is AMAZING.
My first thought upon opening the package was "HOW CUTE!!" Kawaii's are one of the most affordable diapers on the market so I wasn't expecting to be wowed in the looks department, but I was wrong. The diaper had an adorable gender neutral print perfect for a new baby. Upon using the diaper I was very pleased. I have had zero leaks and it has even held in messy breastfed poosplosions. There is a gusset on the back to help hold in poop, plus it gives it some stretch for larger babies. I started using the diaper after my little one's cord fell off, but it would have fit beforehand too. I will show pictures later to show how small it can get! I would highly recommend the P&N diaper to anyone, even an expecting mama cloth diapering a newborn!
